Job Description

A growing residential mortgage company is seeking a Senior Underwriter to join our expanding team. We combine personalized service with modern lending technology to deliver fast, transparent, and reliable mortgage solutions to our community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and underwrite mortgage loan applications, including conventional, FHA, VA, jumbo, and non-QM files
  • Analyze income, assets, credit, and collateral documentation to determine eligibility
  • Issue clear and accurate underwriting conditions and decision summaries
  • Ensure full compliance with investor, federal, and state lending regulations
  • Work closely with processors and loan officers to resolve file issues and meet turn-time expectations
  • Provide guidance to team members and support internal quality control efforts
  • Communicate with Cantonese- or Mandarin-speaking clients as needed to clarify documentation or loan requirements

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of mortgage underwriting experience (senior-level preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, and non-QM guidelines
  • Experience with automated underwriting systems
  • High accuracy in assessing credit, income, assets, and property documentation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Cantonese or Mandarin language skills required
  • Experience working in a fast-paced brokerage or lender environment
